Returns
MedQ's returns terms as they appear on every quotation and invoice, and how to raise a shortage, a damaged delivery or an incorrect item.

MedQ returns terms
These terms appear on every MedQ quotation and invoice:
- A 10% handling fee is charged on goods returned after 5 working days.
- Sterile products cannot be returned or refunded.
- Personal protective equipment, medication, medical devices and supplements are not exchangeable, returnable or refundable. Please make sure you have purchased the correct items before ordering.
- There are no refunds on imported goods or on goods made to order at a customer's request.
- All goods remain the property of MedQ Medical Supplies (Pty) Ltd until paid for in full.
Because a large part of the MedQ catalogue is PPE, consumables and medical devices, the third term above covers most of what MedQ sells. Check the specification, size, pack quantity and compatibility before you place the order — and if you are not certain, ask. MedQ would rather answer the question than process a return that the terms do not allow.
Nothing in these terms is intended to limit a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable South African law; where the law gives you a right these terms do not provide, the law applies.
Shortages, transit damage and incorrect items
These are handled separately from returns, and quickly — but only if you raise them immediately.
- Check the delivery against the delivery note before signing. Record any shortage or visible damage on the delivery note at the time of delivery.
- Contact MedQ the same day with your invoice or quotation reference, the product code, the quantity affected and a photograph of any visible damage.
- Carriers apply short claim windows. An unrecorded shortage is very difficult to resolve after the fact.
If MedQ supplied the wrong item, MedQ will correct it. If an item arrives defective, tell MedQ straight away rather than using it.
Warranty
Equipment warranty is provided by the manufacturer, and its length and terms differ by product. The warranty applying to a specific line is confirmed in writing on the quotation. Ask for it with your quotation request if warranty is part of your decision.
