What this website collects, what it does not, and how MedQ handles the information you send with an order or quotation request.

Scope
This notice describes how the medq.africa website handles personal information, and how MedQ handles the information you choose to send when you request a quotation. MedQ processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What this website stores
This public catalogue has no customer accounts or login and does not use advertising cookies. It uses MedQ's self-hosted Matomo analytics and Cloudflare security and performance services. These services may process technical information such as an abbreviated or full IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, referring page, approximate location, timestamps and security signals. Where analytics cookies are enabled, they help distinguish visits and measure how the website is used.
Two things are stored locally in your own browser, on your own device, using browser storage:
- My Order — the products and quantities you have collected.
- VAT display preference — whether you are viewing prices excluding or including VAT.
Neither is transmitted to MedQ, and neither is visible to MedQ, until you choose to send your order. Clearing your browser data removes both.
What you send us
When you press Send My Order, Request Formal Quote or Send on WhatsApp, the site composes a message in your own email client or in WhatsApp. Nothing is sent until you send it. That message contains the product list you built, and whichever of these you filled in: contact name, company, email address, telephone number, VAT number, delivery location, reference number, required-by date and any notes.
Why we hold it and for how long
MedQ uses that information to prepare a quotation, supply the goods, deliver them, invoice them and keep the records that tax and company law require. It is kept for as long as those purposes and record-keeping obligations require, and no longer.
Who else sees it
Information is shared only where it is needed to fulfil your order — for example with a courier to make a delivery, or with a manufacturer to confirm a specification — and with our professional advisors and any authority entitled to it by law. MedQ does not sell personal information and does not share it for advertising.
Your rights
You may ask what personal information MedQ holds about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted where MedQ is not required to keep it, and object to its processing. Write to [email protected]. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Third-party services
Matomo analytics is hosted by MedQ at admin-analytics.medq.co.zw and is used to understand website visits and improve the catalogue. Cloudflare provides DNS, content delivery, security and performance monitoring and may process request and security data when you visit the site.
This site loads a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers. WhatsApp links open WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own privacy terms.
