Overview
Diathermy Electrodes An electrical conductor that is a component of a short-wave diathermy treatment system and designed for the transfer of electromagnetic (EM) energy in the radio-frequency (RF) bands of 13 megahertz (MHz) to 27.12 MHz from the system’s generator to the patient. The lead is connected to the diathermy machine either directly, or the tab of the electrode is attached to the lead by a grabber clip. A neutral electrode of this design which is only partially attached to the patient will still allow a flow of h.f. current which will increase the risk of alternate site burns.
